Finding Love in Every Touch
Welcome to our Hanoi Contact Improvisation website. We would hope to hope to spread the meaning of this practice to you through our stories and experiences. Please enjoy!

About me
My name is Dang Thuy Vy - The Founder
Growing up to have "physical touch" as the most used love language, I was always curious about how to care for people and spread my affection through touch. However, direct contact was restrained in my culture as it was considered "inappropriate". Eager to alleviate people's fear against physical touch, I found out about Contact Improvisation and decided to hold classes and open a website to introduce this practice to more people, hoping that the true meaning of physical touch could be felt, especially by young generations.
It was also my hobby to practice dancing. When approaching Contact Improvisation, a lot of dancing was involved to feel the music and join the mood of the room. It was much more laid back than normal dancing, but much more freestyles and emotions.

Our Story
As soon as I found out about Contact Improvisation, I immediately wanted to learn about it and the techniques related. I contacted a specialist in this field, Mr. Ha Tuan Linh, who had had more than 4 years of experiences and a unique way of approaching Contact Improvisation by focusing on the caregiving and emotions side. We decided to hold a class on a weekly basis and attracted a friend of mine and a friend of his to join. As the class was organized, my friend and I learned about Contact Improvisation from Mr. Ha Tuan Linh and Mr. Lam Thai Dat, Mr. Linh's friend and also a specialist through real lessons. This class was the first time the two specialists organized on a regular basis and focused mostly on healing and feeling the pace of touch and improvisation of movements. It was also open for others to join: each week, the class welcomed a couple of strangers who wanted to experience Contact Improvisation; therefore, we had more chances to practice with a variety of people with different emotions and ways of feeling touch. Many technique and lessons are conveyed diversely through the course of eight lessons.
After the course, I continue the class and try to attract more young people to attend, with the help of my two mentors and friends. It has been a great challenge as I try to apply the techniques I learned previously while organize the exercises in the way people could feel the meaning of Contact Improvisation in just one lesson. However, it has been a great pleasure seeing people enjoy the class, share more about themselves, and have a change in their attitude towards physical touch and also other feelings in their heart.
